We Repair
While we are not here to blame every builder or suggest that every new home has problems, we have seen more than our fair share of newer homes here in the Colorado Springs area, sometimes only a few years old, with siding, trim, and exterior components already failing because of poor water-management details, missing or improperly installed flashing, or other installation deficiencies.
In many cases, the visible damage is only the symptom. Deteriorated trim, swollen siding, soft materials, peeling paint, or staining around windows can indicate deeper issues behind the finished surface, including missing flashing, improperly installed flashing, poorly integrated weather-resistant barriers (WRBs), unsealed or unpainted field-cut edges, inadequate clearances, or water being directed behind the siding instead of safely away from the structure.
When appropriate, we recommend opening the affected area, inspecting the underlying components, and rebuilding the assembly using proper flashing techniques, durable materials, sealed cut edges, and improved water-management practices. Our goal is not simply to replace damaged siding—it is to identify and correct the underlying condition that caused the failure whenever practical, helping provide a repair that will perform reliably for years to come.
